We are very happy to announce that we have been donated two new freezers and two new freezers. They are highly energy efficient, ensuring we reduce our overhead costs whilst ensuring high quality cooling for produce we collect and redistribute.
Our original fridges were very kindly donated to us by The Secret Cellar- Independent Wine Merchants. This kind donation of two glass fronted fridges allowed us to open in February. However, they were costly to run, and we are incredibly grateful to Repower Balcombe who researched and bought us two fridges and a freezer that will reduce our electricity bills and maintenance costs.
Additionally, due to incredibly high demand and high produce levels during covid-19 we needed an extra freezer and Sussex Police Community Fund very kindly donated the costs of a new matching freezer, meaning we now have two.
These are essential items for our community fridge and allow us to continue to redistribute surplus food items to the community, saving waste and helping those in need.
